My August So Far!

Good News -- We have an official offer on our home. Bad News -- They are in the negotiation phase and we may not be able to move before the start of the new school year. This means kids may start school here in Pine Tree and then transfer about a week into the school year. This also means I will have to wait to fill out applications to substitute until we move, so it will delay getting sub pay for a little while longer. Come on people, settle on an offer and let my family move.

Almost all of the packing is done for the house, with the exception of items we are currently using. I need to get a few more boxes lined up to throw things in the day before we move.

In case you haven't heard, we are in the middle of a heat wave here in Texas. Longview has set a new record for number of days over 100 degrees. Whew! I'm sweating just thinking about it.

Caleb (my 16 year old son) has officially obtained his driver's license. Just in time, as he may have to drive one of our cars to our new residence.

I am behind on writing more on my book...Maybe I can squeeze out another chapter before we move. I just have other things (like moving) on my mind.

Super Bowl Sunday Update

It's the first day of February and of course it's Super Bowl Sunday. I'm not even sure how much of the game I will watch! I haven't watched much football in the past few years. I am more of a baseball fan. GO TEXAS RANGERS! I would watch the commercials during the Super Bowl but they have become stupid and offensive so there is really no need for me to watch it! If I did watch it, I would root for the Cardinals. It's there first time there and the Steelers have had plenty of Super Bowls appearances.

I think I will just catch up on my recorded television shows. I have a couple of episodes of Monk to watch and a Twilight Zone episode to watch as well. I could also watch the James Bond movie -- The Man With the Golden Gun -- that is here on loan from Netflix.

More importantly about today is; that 25 days from now is my 42nd birthday! Woo-Hoo!

The family and I are back from Great Wolf Lodge! It was a lot of fun for all of us. The waves in their "wave pool" were very strong. They would knock the breath out of you if you were not careful. I am glad to be home though.

Weekend Plans

Not much is happening around the English house recently, unless you count starting the new business (see blog below). My wife, Jamie, has been out of town since Tuesday visiting family and attending the funeral of her grand-mother in Michigan. She will get back into town sometime Sunday afternoon. My son, Caleb, will be attending a band concert in Dallas on Saturday. His school's 7th Grade Band will be part of the performance. He will be gone most of the day. That leaves my daughter, Rachel, and I alone for the day Saturday. Maybe we can go get a snow cone and play some kind of games?

Friday, I plan on taking the kids to see The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. I hope we can catch a matinee show before it gets to crowded.

As for the present...I am just missing my bride. It's not the same cuddling with a pillow. I am also praying, with much fervor, about our new travel business. I fully trust in God to do with it as he pleases; but my human nature really wants it to do well.
